10 Ways to Make a Difference This Christmas

This Christmas. Christmas time is one of those times of years that we are in a giving spirit. Which is something that we should try to do throughout the year, but we often get too busy. That is why during Christmas, we should all do our best to make a difference. So, how can you make a difference during this Christmas season? 

1. Give to those who are less fortunate. If you are setting in your home that is perfectly decorated with a beautiful tree, then you should want to pass along this happiness. Give to those who may be less fortunate. This could be donating food to a shelter or even donating Christmas gifts for the Angel Tree. 
2. Consider volunteering your time to spruce up the local women’s shelter or homeless shelter. If you love to decorate, why not take these skills and give back to the shelters? Those who are living here are down on their luck and the Christmas spirit that you are offering just might be what they need to turn around their holiday!
3. Go to your local children’s hospital and volunteer to read Christmas stories to the children who are stuck in this location during the holidays. 
4. Donate some stuffed toys to the dog shelter for the dogs to play with. While they may be furry creatures, they still enjoy a treat from time to time. 
5. Find an organization that needs help with soup kitchens or the like and volunteer your time.
6. Bake Christmas cookies and pass these out to the local nursing home or retirement home. 
7. Help your neighbor with decorating their exterior if they seem to be struggling.
8. Offer to babysit some neighbor kids so that the parents can get out and get their shopping done. 
9. Give a toy to the local toy drive that is happening, as most organizations put these on each year.
10. Go to your local schools and see if there is anything that children are needing for the Christmas season or even your local church to find out what may be needed.

It can be easy to get super involved with decorating, buying presents and making our home look like a picture out of a magazine. However, we still need to remember the true meaning of Christmas. And that is something that many people forget about…as they focus so much on what is pretty surrounding them.
